HoarSEness

The voicebox is extremely sensitive to the slightest irritation or irregularity. Voice changes are therefore an early indicator and may result from a wide variety of conditions including laryngitis or nodules. However, persistent hoarseness warrants a Specialist review to rule out more concerning causes.

snoring

Sleep disordered breathing represents a spectrum ranging from simple snoring to severe obstructive sleep apnoea. While snoring is disruptive to partners and other household members, it may also indicate a chronic physical blockage to breathing during sleep with more concerning implications for cardiovascular health.

An ENT assessment provides an understanding of the contributing factors and, along further investigations including sleep studies, will help determine long-term management strategies such as surgery or oxygen therapy.

neck lumps

Multiple structures in the neck can give rise to visible or palpable swellings through enlargement, most commonly the thyroid gland or lymph nodes (part of the immune system).

Any unexplained persistent or progressive neck swelling should be investigated with scans and blood tests. Our Specialist team will be able to advise you on the best course of action depending on clinical examination findings and test results.
