MAX WHITTAKER

Max is a Consultant in Otolaryngology and clinical lead at the Homerton University Hospital, London. He has extensive experience in the treatment of ear infections, ear drum perforations, cholesteatoma, hearing loss, dizziness and balance disorders in adults and children. He specialises in minimally invasive endoscopic ear surgery for tympanic perforations and middle ear disease, and has a high level of clinical and surgical expertise in a wide range of general and emergency Otolaryngology conditions.

After completing Specialist training across numerous centres of excellence in London and South East England, he undertook a Fellowship in Otology & Skull Base Surgery at Guys & St Thomas Hospitals, as well as Observerships at the world-renowned House Institute in California, and at Toronto General Hospital focusing on Endoscopic Ear Surgery.

He continued to pursue his research interests while achieving a Master Degree with Distinction in Audiovestibular Medicine at the Ear Institute, University College London. This has provided him with specific expertise in Neurotology and the management of dizziness and vertigo. His work has been presented at conferences both nationally and internationally.

He is known for his strong communication skills and formulating management strategies with the patient’s best interest and needs at heart.

Max has pioneered the North East London Teleotology programme. This revolutionary approach enables remote consultations conveniently timed around work and life commitments, and has proved extremely effective in reducing time to diagnosis and treatment.

HASSAN ELHASSAN

Hassan is a Consultant ENT Surgeon and specialist in endoscopic sinus and minimal access surgery. He has extensive experience in complex sinus disease, revision sinus surgery or frontal sinus surgery.

Hassan is particularly skilled at helping patients with sinusitis, nasal polyps, blocked noses and breathing problems. He has developed specialist surgical skills and techniques by training and visiting the best centres of sinus surgery excellence in the world.

He also offers a general adult and paediatric ENT practice for most conditions. His NHS practice is based Homerton University Hospital and his private practice is via telephone or video consultation, as well as London Independent Hospital and London Spire East Hospital.

He is great at explaining things in straight forward terms that patients can understand. He puts patients at ease with his reassuring manner that comes from years of experience as one of London’s leading nose and sinus specialist.

Hassan has an enthusiasm for surgical efficient process and management and has introduced many quality improvement initiatives in multiple hospital departments.

More recently he was appointed Deputy Clinical Director for ENT in the London region. He has contributed to the elective surgery backlog recovery plan in Northeast London helping patients who have been waiting a long time for surgery.
